On Monday 5 September, 2022, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) celebrated the Opening of the Academic Year for 2022 – 2023.
The theme of the opening was European technological sovereignty and the Dutch contribution to it, particularly through the Brainport Eindhoven region. Keynote speakers Micky Adriaansens (Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy), Thierry Breton (European Commissioner for the Internal Market), and Peter Wennink (CEO of ASML), will reflected on this theme.
Finally, Rector Frank Baaijens looked both back and ahead to the future, and officially open the 2022 – 2023 academic year.

The Opening of the Academic Year was open to internal audiences (students and staff, no registration needed) and external audiences (by invitation).
